Profession Growth Plan My professional development plan focuses on building effective relationships with a better understanding of anxiety and understanding the impact of new technologies in education and society. Although I highly regard academic learning and success, my teaching experience has illuminated the critical role of relationships in my professional life. I recognize that these bonds are forged over time within our community, which continuously interacts with and reinforces its values and beliefs. Nonetheless, I am also aware that heightened levels of anxiety could potentially undermine the effectiveness of our relationships.
Concurrently, I am also delving into the impact of AI technologies and their potential to promote a more personalized learning experience and improve the overall teaching quality. I am also aware of AI's potential to help EAL speakers and how it can improve their skills. In order to better understand this technology, I have also enrolled in an online course in Generative AI for Everyone from DeepLearning. This course has already helped me understand AI better and helped me develop a language in which I can better articulate both the challenges and the opportunities platforms like Chatgpt represent.
Moreover, current literature indicates that social media AI algorithms play a critical role in the process of identity formation among youth. I am particularly interested in the effect of social media algorithms used to captivate teenagers' attention, given the significant influence they exert on our relationships in various ways. In addition to this, I am committed to life long learning and I do my best to stay in touch with current events in both and literary developments.
Evidence Based Approach: 1. In order to foster better relationships, I run a yearly quantitative study on our school population, with the help of my colleagues and the principal's permission, that allows me to better understand our students, and their struggles, so we can build more meaningful relations as a school, as a community, and as a society. This survey is most valuable in helping me build relationships that are meaningful and considerate while also being evidence-based and data-driven. 2. I am currently using AI in my practice to both improve my teaching, familiarize students with the pros and cons of AI and when possible collaborate with other collogues on the topic.
4. Life long learning is demonstrated though the completion of the Aspiring Leadership program and by sharing new research and current events with staff and students.
